How To Start Developing Apps for Windows Mobile (version < 7.0)

You may find this post little weird because here I am going to talk about app development for windows phone and that too for version < 7.0. Well not many but few developers still develop apps for Windows Mobile.

I found it as difficult to set up the environment for Windows Mobile (version < 7.0) development because there is too little help on web about it. So I thought of sharing the steps with all the readers.To setup the development environment for Windows phone (>= 7.0) is easy task.
So, here are the steps to set up development environment for Windows Mobile (version < 7.0)

(1) You will need Microsoft visual studio 2005 or Microsoft visual studio 2008.

(2) For App development, Windows Mobile SDK is required which you can get it from here :- http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=6135(3) Also Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center will be needed which you can download from here : http://www.downloadshareware.com/lv/software/download/kl1791940.htm

Download and install all the above softwares and you are ready to go.


Open visual studio -> File -> New -> Project. And you will see different templates for developing windows mobile apps.
